Seasoning for roast:
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon pepper
- garlic salt
- cayenne pepper
Preparing the Roast:
- Set the pellet grill to smoke and allow it to preheat.
- Coat the outside of the pot roast lightly with salt, pepper, garlic salt and cayenne pepper.
- Place the roast directly on the grill and allow it to smoke for 2 hours.
Pot Roast Ingredients:
- 1 2 pounds chuck or arm roast
- 6 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves of garlic, diced
- 1 stick of butter
- 32 ounces Beef broth
Directions for pot roast:
- Place butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Add the onions and garlic cooking until tender and slightly browned.
- Pour the beef broth in with the onions.
- Cook over low to medium heat for 15 minutes.
- Remove the roast from the grill place carrots, potatoes and roast in the Dutch oven or roasting pot.
- Turn the grill up to 300 degrees cook with lid off for 1 hour
- Then cover with lid and cook for 2 more hours.
- Remove the roast from the grill and let set about 10 minutes.
- Place the roast and carrots on a serving tray.
- Use the juice as gravy or make your own using the liquid from the roast.
