Step 1: Prepare the CrustIf you're using a store-bought pie crust, simply roll it out into a 9-inch pie dish. If making from scratch, roll out your dough and fit it into the pan, crimping the edges for a decorative finish. Set it aside while you prepare the filling.
Step 2: Mix the FillingIn a large bowl, mix the flour and sugar together, then add the melted butter, eggs, vanilla and mix until smooth. Then stir in the pecans and chocolate chips. Pour into the pie shell.
Step 4: Bake to PerfectionPreheat your oven to 325°F. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set. If the edges of the crust start to brown too quickly, cover them with aluminum foil or a pie shield. You can allow the pie to cool completely before slicing—this helps the filling set properly. (I prefer to eat it right from the oven.) Serve at room temperature or slightly warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie
Use dark chocolate chips for a deeper flavor contrast against the sweet filling. Toast the pecans for extra nuttiness before adding them to the pie. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a weekTo reheat pie, sprinkle some water on top of a piece and warm in microwave about 10 seconds
